Our Fraternity and Sorority Community

Our fraternity and sorority community have a rich tradition at the University of Kentucky, starting in the 1890s and continuing to provide support, friendship and leadership to the UK community.

We currently have 52 social and cultural fraternities and sororities. Our organizations are members of governing councils that assist with events and programs, communication, recruitment activities, and student advocacy. Our community has over 5,600 members, across 4 governing councils.

The governing councils here at UK are the Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, and United Greek Council. These 4 councils consist of student leaders from the their respective communities striving to meet the mission and vision of our community as a whole and to strive to attain what is wildly possible here at the University of Kentucky.
